What is Prayer?
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God". - Philippians 4:6
Prayer is one of the fundamental aspects of Christian life. When used correctly, prayer can unleash the might of God's power so that He is able to work for us, in us and through us.
We know that God cares deeply about us. For example, we know that He is aware of each and every problem in our lives and is waiting patiently for us to come to Him with all of those problems. The Bible tells us repeatedly to bring our problems to our Heavenly Father.
Prayer is not informing God of something which we think He may not be aware of already (because He knows everything) or a platform to try and convince Him to do what we want or to love us more. He already knows what our needs are and He has already blatantly shown His love! The purpose of prayer is to assist us in building and strengthening our relationship with God, finding about Him, His love and His will, so that we can agree with His will and praying it into being. Prayer is a two way conversation between us and God.
At King's Church Ministries, we can guide you in how to make the most of your daily prayer time, which is also worship. This will allow God to accomplish the things that He wants to see happen in your life and in the lives of others.
SUNDAY PRAYER
Sunday mornings from 9:00 - 10:20, we meet in the Prayer Room primarily to pray for the service due that day, for salvation and for the Holy Spirit to have His way.
On most Sunday mornings at the end of the main service, there is a call to prayer where any who are present can come forward to respond to the word given that morning or for any other matter concerning you. This can include prayer for salvation, re-commitments or any other matter, with the security of knowing that only the church elders or trusted members of the church will be praying for you.
SEEKING TOGETHER PRAYER MEETINGS
There is a weekly prayer meeting held every Tuesday from 9:30 - 11:00 in the church lounge, which is led by a member of the Prayer & Intercessory team.
Anyone can attend and join in as we pray through some of the prayer requests that come in to the church via the prayer requests slips. These would have been filled in by those attending church on the previous Sunday.
There is also an opportunity to bring your own prayer requests to the meeting or by phoning the church offices and leaving details of your prayer requests, or e-mailing them to admin@kingschurchministries.org.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
On the first Wednesday of every month, there is a prayer meeting held in the Back Hall led by a member of the Prayer & Intercessory team, during which members and visitors gather together to pray for the happenings in the church, for the different departments, for any local or national issues and in any other area that the Holy Spirit leads.
Life Groups are another opportunity for you to pray with others. There you can share your own personal prayer needs and requests, as well as upholding others while they pray and share in their trials and victories.
